Katherine Little started selling her jam at Peppers in 2019 after a neighbour complained about her home sales.

Today, she is celebrating her fifth anniversary at the store and is now expanding to nine stores.

“We’ve grown from a farm stand in front of the house, and now we are in nine retail stores, mind-boggling. I still don’t believe it,” Little said.

Customers can find the jams at Market on Yates, Market on Millstream and all the Red Barn stores.

When her jams first spread into Peppers in 2019, there were 10 different flavours. This has since exploded to 25 varieties.

“We range anywhere from your traditional raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, to cinnamon pear and apple,” Little said.

She would not be able to do this without her husband, James and she said that the pair made a conscious decision to keep her jams a family business.

“It is a fun project for me to work with him on,” Little said.

Little will incorporate community members’ requests and introduce new flavours to her range of products, even if she has never heard of it before.

“I had a gentleman knock on the door and say he was from Prince Edward Island,” said Little. “He wanted pineapple and orange marmalade.”
