A fog advisory is being issued for Greater Victoria and the Malahat Highway from Goldstream to Mill Bay.

Environment Canada is forecasting near-zero visibility at times in the fog.

The advisory is being issued from late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Near zero visibility in fog can cause hazardous travel, warns Environment Canada. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance, states DriveBC.

Temperatures are expected to be around a low of 1 C for most of Greater Victoria overnight, however, in areas where the mercury dips below freezing while fog is developing there may be a risk of slippery surfaces.

Visibility is expected to improve near midday, Wednesday, while temperatures will climb to 7 C.
