Canadian music star Serena Ryder returns to Victoria on a seasonal note this month.
The pop diva with a three-octave range and songwriting chops that have produced chart-topping hit records for two decades, drew an appreciative overflow crowd at Butchart Gardens outdoor stage in July. She comes back for a Nov. 24 show at the Royal Theatre to perform songs from last year’s jazz-influenced seasonal-inspired CD, Christmas Kisses.

Ryder has won six Juno Awards, a MuchMusic Video Award for her big hit, “Stompa,” and accolades in Rolling Stone Magazine for Christmas Kisses. She has sold millions of records and her songs have been used in 50 television shows and commercials.
This year Ryder opened Arthaus, a recording studio in Toronto, and she has been working on her follow-up CD to 2017’s acclaimed Utopia. She spent three years in London, Nashville, Los Angeles and Toronto co-writing and recording the songs on that album.
Ryder is a dynamic performer and sure to sprinkle hits like “Stompa,” “What I Wouldn’t Do,” “Together We Are One” and “Got Your Number” among her live renditions of songs from Christmas Kisses.
Showtime is at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40.50; to purchase, call the box office at 250-386-6121 or check the website at rmts.bc.ca.
