Chemainus tenor Ken Lavigne and his band are on tour in China.
He’ll be performing with his band and 50 members of the Vancouver Island Choir, made up of singers from the Island and Vancouver, under the direction of conductor Patricia Plumley.
Other ensembles are joining the Vancouver Islanders on tour, including the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, conductor Claude Giguere, assistant conductor Will Chernoff from Vancouver, and the U.S.A.-based A Touch of Class, under the direction of Canadian conductor Phil Smyth.
Performances in China are: March 24 at the Beijing National Library Concert Hall, Beijing; March 26 at Shijiazhuang Grand Theatre, Shijiazhuang; March 29 at Keqiao Grand Theatre in Hangzhou; March 30 at Suzhou Culture & Arts Center, Suzhou and March 31 at Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall, Shanghai.
