PHOTOS: Killer whales make rare visit into Ladysmith Harbour

The sheltered waters of Ladysmith Harbour aren’t used to visits from orcas.

But when a visiting pob shows up — particularly on a gloriously sunny early fall day like Sept. 28 — it makes for some fine photo opportunities.

Art Carlyle captured these images of killer whales in the Ladysmith Harbour Monday afternoon, before they headed toward Saltair and Chemainus before returning to Ladysmith.
