Marion and Noel Burnham have rebuilt their raft of ducks after a week of high and lows.
The effort comes after a display, which included 15 rubber duckies, outside their Parksville home was raided. Their birds sat in the grey gravel “pond” they made on their front lawn and were a welcome sight for passersby and neighbours alike.
The Burnhams said many kind people came together to donate quackers to their cause after hearing about the theft.
“We’re so amazed at the interest expressed by so many friends, neighbours and strangers,” they said. “The only problem now is that we have to round everyone up at night and bring them in, as they are afraid to stay out overnight!”

Although their ducks may still be adapting to their new habitat, the couple said they’re all taking it in stride.
“Oh well, that’s the price of fame I guess,” they said.
