Following a major seismic event, it could take firefighters, such as John MacKenzie and other members of Nanaimo’s emergency services, several days to reach areas of the city that will need their help. The best way to get through that period is through knowledge and preparation and the City of Nanaimo and the province have literature available to help residents prepare for and survive major disasters.
