Volleybash is set to hold another smashing weekend at the Community Park in Parsville from Aug. 31 to Sept 2.

This popular summer event has been around for 28 years. It was created out of love for the sport of beach volleyball.

It has become the largest and longest running beach volleyball tournament on Vancouver Island.

This annual volleyball event is a favourite among players from all across the province including Vancouver, Kelowna, and of course Vancouver Island. It attracts a variety of players of different levels and ages, coming to Parksville to have fun and play volleyball.

The three-day tournament features 32 courts and one feature court. Last year, 115 teams competed with a total of 285 athletes participating.

The event will feature music and a Kids Zone on Saturday with bouncy castles. Players are invited to a dinner and social event in Parksville.

The event is organized by Oceanside Outdoor Sport in partnership with Volleyball BC. All proceeds go to support the Canadian Women’s National Volleyball Team.

If anyone wishes to take part, sign up your team and play Co-ed Corporate 6’s on Aug. 31, Co-Ed Triples on Sept. 1, or men’s and women’s doubles on Sept. 2.
