The Nanaimo Clippers only needed 24 hours to avenge a loss against a Coastal Conference rival.

The Clippers defeated the Powell River Kings by a 6-3 score on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Frank Crane Arena, a day after the Kings had won 4-1 at Frank Crane.

In the win, the Clippers got goals from six different contributors as Brody Waters, Grant Babcock, Willyam Gendron, Kai Daniells, Jérémie Payant and Charles Tardif all lit the lamp. Shane Shelest was the winning goalie with 35 saves as his team was outshot 38-26.

The day before, only Daniells was able to score for Nanaimo and goalie Aidan Campbell made 28 saves in defeat.

GAME ON … The Clippers are on the road the next two weekends, starting this Friday, Feb. 3, with a game against the Cowichan Valley Capitals in Duncan. Nanaimo’s next home games are Feb, 17-18 when they host the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and Vernon Vipers. For ticket information, visit www.nanaimoclippers.com.
