Junior curlers across the province will rock the house at the Parksville Curling Club this weekend.

The Curl BC Junior bonspiel will take place starting on Friday at 7 p.m. then on Saturday at 8 a.m., noon and 4:30 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday with consolation round at 8 a.m. and finals to be held at noon.

There will be eight girls teams and four boys teams who will compete for points toward the provincial playoffs and also cash prizes to help cover the cost for the upcoming curling season. They will include local players as well.

The girls will be divided into two pools and will play a round-robin format. The top two from each groups will advance to the final. The top two rinks in the boys division will advance to the medal round.

Organizer Brian Onushko is inviting the public to come out and watch the best and brightest curlers of the province in action. It’s free of charge.
