Victoria native and former Westshore Rebels kicker Quinn van Gylswyk has signed a contract with the Montreal Alouettes.

van Gylswyk was a free agent after playing the last two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was drafted in the third round, No. 26 overall pick, by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2016 CFL draft.

He played in one game in each of the 2016 and 2017 seasons and sat out a portion of each season due to injury.

As a CFL rookie he kicked a 54-yard field goal in 2016 against the Calgary Stampeders. It was the longest field goal kicked by a Roughrider since Luca Congi kicked a 54-yarder on July 17, 2010.
