Baseball association awaits loosening of restrictions

Season typically starts in April, but might be delayed

The Chemainus & District Baseball Association hopes to have a season in 2021, but it remains to be seen if that will happen due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.

For now, the association is asking parents to email Vanessa@chemainusbaseball@outlook.com to gauge the interest level in playing this year.

“Under the current Viasport restrictions we don’t know when games will be played, but we certainly hope to be out there this season,” noted Jim Jaggers, the association’s vice president.

“Typically our season would start in April but unless restrictions are loosened up soon that will probably be delayed a little. Our hope is that we can have everything in place so once we are able we can start up right away and get kids outside playing again.”
