LETTER: Anti-vaxxers shouldn’t expect benefits of system they mock

Am I the only one who is tired of those who fall into the category of anti-vaxxer, anti masker and generally believe that COVID is at best made up? That group of bullies who want, want, want, protest, lie, make things up, get in your face.

Am I the only one who is tired of those who fall into the category of anti-vaxxer, anti masker and generally believe that COVID is at best made up? That group of bullies who want, want, want, protest, lie, make things up, get in your face.

How is it that these same people who don’t care about nurses, doctors and teachers want to be treated fairly and equitably when they get sick? How is it that they have the nerve to go to a hospital and expect to receive care from the same people they would mock and harass?

How did we go from banging pots at 7 p.m. in support of health-care workers to banging heads with those same people?

How is it that they can expect to be treated when knowing their actions can jeopardize the health and care needed by those with cancer, blood disorders, heart surgery and a whole range of life-threatening illnesses? This is wrong.

I would say to those who aren’t vaccinated and won’t get vaccinated and expect an equal right of access to medical services, you go to the back of the line. And you should lose your access to publicly funded health services. Anti-vaxxers should come with their credit card or chequebook and pay the going rates for the services they receive.

After all, if you crap on the system, why should you expect to receive the same access as those who do the right thing and get their vaccinations? And how dare these people expect their children should be able to go to school. I say get vaccinated or learn online or home school.

It’s time to say we’ve had enough of these bullies, their outrageous actions and words. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
