December 14, 1925 - November 26, 2020
Wilma passed away peacefully at Mt. Ida Mews, her home for the last six years.
She was predeceased by her first husband Roger whom she married in 1952 and by Ross whom she married in 1999, two sisters, Luella and Velma, and her brother Glen.
She is survived by sister, Kae, daughters, Jean (David) and Elizabeth (Gregory, deceased), son Douglas, and grandsons, Michael (Heather) and Roger.
Wilma was born in Scott, Saskatchewan and lived in many communities in Canada including Saskatoon, Toronto, Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, Weyburn and Salmon Arm.
She trained as a nurse and worked with her husband Roger who was a dentist for many years in Port Alberni. Wilma belonged to the United Churches in Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, and subsequently in Weyburn, where she supported her husband Ross who served as the minister there for many years. She and Ross loved to tell stories of their adventures serving various communities around Weyburn.
Wilma was a wonderful mother who was very proud of her family. Unfortunately, she did not live long enough to meet her great-grandchild whose birth is eagerly anticipated in early December.
Wilma's family is most appreciative of the staff of the Mews for the wonderful care they provided Wilma as she progressed through her journey with dementia. They also wish to thank the Shuswap Lodge Retirement Home for the care they provided her during her stay at that facility.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local United Church of Canada.
