In loving memory ~
Our hearts are broken as we announce the death of our wonderful husband, brother, father, and poppa, William Robert Morrison at the age of 75. Bill was surrounded with love, laughter and tears from his family as he passed gently on Saturday April 9, 2022 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC. He left us a treasury of memories which we will cherish and recount many times over. His passing was due to Acute Myeloid Leukemia which had transitioned from a chronic blood cancer (CMML).
He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Pamelia, and brother Wayne. He is survived by his wife Debra; brother Gary (Nedra); sister Maggie (Milt); his sons Donn (Jen), Mike (Alix), and Todd (Sylwia); his daughter Jody (Chad); his grandchildren Raffa, Sierra and Violet, Taz and Riza, Fin and Wren, his cousins: Shauna Veale (Doug), Heather and Morag Morrison.
Bill was born in Cumberland and grew up in Royston. At a young age he could be found fishing along the Trent River, a passion which stayed with him for the rest of his life. He began his working career at the Campbell River Pulp Mill, and later moved into real estate where his success culminated in the founding of Re/Max Ocean Pacific Realty in Comox with Dave Proctor, Glenn Proctor, and Jim Gordon. Bill relished the fulfillment of finding just the right property for his clients and selling their homes for true market value. He enjoyed his colleagues immensely and had recently begun meeting with some of the retirees to reminisce over coffee.
He retired at 53, reveling in time spent camping, fishing, skate skiing, swimming, biking, taking photos, traveling, attending music festivals, collecting nuts and mushrooms, gardening, and living a healthy lifestyle. He delighted in conversations with passersby, neighbours and friends. Thank you all!
We wish to thank the medical staff , doctors and nurses in emergency, third floor, and ICU at Comox Valley Hospital, where Bill received the most compassionate care. He continued to receive soft gentle care as he passed at the Jubilee.
We will miss our Big Bill Beaver, his love, laughter and that great big smile.
In memory of Bill, take a walk in the woods, a swim, ride a bike, go camping, ski, watch the birds, or admire the blossoms.
