George passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84, with his family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, nieces, nephews, canine companions and the many friendships made over the years.
Born in Saskatchewan, George grew up in Richmond, BC. He taught at Gladstone Secondary, VCC, Langara Campus and two years in Ghana, West Africa with CIDA.
Upon retirement, the family moved to Courtenay. George volunteered with CV Seniors Peer Support group, which he found very rewarding.
A heart felt Thank You to Dr. Potter-Cogan for his many years of care, as well as the doctors and nursing staff of NIHCV and the home support Care Aides. A Thank You to caring and supportive neighbours.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2 pm at Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home (440 England Ave, Courtenay). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CV Senior Peer Support (491-B 4th Street Courtenay, BC V9N 1G9).
