December 10, 1935 - August 15, 2022
In loving memory ~
William Ernest Forde, "Bill", age 86, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. He was born December 10, 1935, in Kinistino, Saskatchewan, the youngest child to the late Robert Ernest and Irene Maria Forde. He is survived by his wife Sally and three children and their spouses, David (Linda), Bruce (Melanie) and Kathleen (Kim), grandchildren Ryan, Sean, Laura, Andrew and Robert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from the University of Alberta in 1959 as a chemical engineer and worked in the pulp and paper industry for 35 years with the last 25 at Harmac in Nanaimo.
Bill was an avid golfer who was especially proud of his "hole in one" at Cottonwood golf course. He was a competitive curler winning the Alberta High School District Championship in 1954, achieving an "eight ender" in 1971 and enjoying many years on the ice. He enjoyed boating, fishing, time at the cabin on Ruxton, walking the dogs, and most of all he was a devoted family man who loved taking pictures of family and friends at parties. There was rarely a time he didn't have his newest camera in hand.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
It is time to rest Bill. Go freely, go confidently.
Do not look back. Do not linger. Your next life awaits you.
The family will be having a private internment at Cedar Memorial Gardens with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
