William "BILL" Walter Green, also known as the Wild Thing was born in Eston, Saskatchewan on August 30th 1950. A prominent volunteer in the Nanaimo community, you would see him at Clippers and Buccaneers games. On Saturday, October 16th 2021 at 5:26pm he lost a silent battle with Cancer. He was 71. Bill, like all Greens was out spoken, loud, lovable and stubborn. He lived his life by the old code where and handshake meant something and respect and honour had value. In his final few weeks, he came to find out why he was in pain. But it was to late to save his life. In those final few weeks, he reconnected with family. He laughed and told jokes, sharing his life with everyone who came to see him. Bill clung to the belief that his one true love was Gillian. Also known as the Little Thing. He had children with her and helped raise her children from a previous marriage. 20 years after it ended, he still spoke about his love for her. Those children "the Other Things" surrounded him in the final few days giving him and showing him the love, he deserved. He will be survived by 5 children and 8 grand children that will look forward to season in the sun.
