Wilf of Campbell River, BC, sadly passed away with his loving daughters beside him at Royal Jubilee Hospital Victoria, BC after complications from a massive heart attack.
Wilf predeceased his wife of 60 years, Julie (April 28 2016). Wilf is survived by his daughters Shelley Gardner (Dane Skillings), Maria Winser, sister Marie (Gordon) Becker, five grandchildren Eric (Julie), Brad (Crystal), Sarah, Michael and Adam (Breanna) and four great-grandchildren.
Wilf was a hard working knowledgable proud road builder/logger. He had a love for gems/minerals, airplanes, travel, books, horses and dogs. He often said "Bury me with my dog"!
Dad we know you had to go. You were tired and are now going home to mom, missing her deeply, often referring to her as a very good friend, your best friend. Give her loving hugs & kisses from us and save some for yourself.
We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Campbell River Regional Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital Victoria, BC and paramedics who provided excellent care.
A celebration of Wilf's life will be held Sunday, June 30th 1 to 4 pm at 3927 Seamist Drive Campbell River. In lieu of flowers (gratefully declined) the family requests donations to BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or the SPCA.
