Jim was born in Melfort Saskatchewan and was raised in Flin Flon Manitoba. He married Kathleen”Kay”Pannell in 1954 then off to Saskatoon to continue his career in The Royal Canadain Air Force as an Areo Engine Technician. After retiring from the RCAF Jim worked as a refrigeration technician and a Millwright in BC eventually residing on Vancouver Island.
Jim loved to fly and got his pilots license in 1962, enjoying many years and destinations flying with family and friends.
Jim and Kay retired early and enjoyed many winters in the sun and park hosting in the summers.
As a grandfather he enjoyed teaching jokes and tricks for a lifetime of happy memories.
Jim lost the love of his life Kay in December 2018 following her two months later. They are together again. Jim is greatly missed and is survived by his son Brent, daughter Karen, grandchildren Lindsey, Bradley, Patrick and Krista, great grandchildren Jordyn, Maxwell and Westin.
