May 24, 1954 - August 25, 2021
Wendy was diagnosed with lung cancer December 2019. She remained optomistic with a smile on her face, and lived over a year longer than expected.
Wendy was born in Brampton, Ontario to Frances and Terry Newcombe. She grew up and worked in the suburbs of Toronto. When she moved to the Comox Valley (1990), she and her first husband started a ceramic business. She worked for Mohawk, Campbell River; and after her divorce, for Sears and Ashley Furniture in Courtenay. Wendy retired to Campbell River.
She loved making, painting and teaching ceramics, and watching hummingbirds visit her gardens. Wendy travelled to Florida, Texas, Dominican Republic, cruised to Alaska and the Hawiian Islands, and camped in Arizona and Mexico.
Wendy will be remembered by her soulmate, Harvey Hiquebran (his family) Campbell River, BC, son Jason Davitt (Katelyn) Courtenay, BC, brothers, Rick Newcombe (Carrol) Milton, Ontario, Robert Newcombe (Marsha) Courtenay, BC, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Aunt Audrey Forsythe, Dartmouth, NS, cousins, and many friends.
Your laughter will live on in our hearts.
Due to Covid, there will be a family gathering at a later date.
