February 10, 1947 - August 25, 2020
Wayne passed away at his home in Courtenay on August 25, 2020. Wayne was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, February 10, 1947, to parents Frank and Doris Turner.
He is survived by his wife Susan, son Clayton, daughter Sheri (Mike) Gerigk and stepsons Kevin and Trevor Delay. Wayne also leaves behind his brother Mike and sisters Carol (Bill) Metner and Pat Heibert, 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Wayne was predeceased by his parents and sister Doreen DesChamp.
Wayne spent the majority of his working life as a Service Station manager for various brands and one last transfer in 2000 brought him to Courtenay and the Payless (Shell) Station at the bottom of Ryan Rd. After a few years he decided a change was in order and made a move to the electrical department at Home Depot where he worked until his retirement.
Wayne was a wonderful husband and father and a great friend to all who knew him. He will be remembered by many as the guy you could count on to help you with plumbing, electrical or even mechanical problems. He will be missed.
A private cremation has taken place and a spreading of his ashes will take place next year.
In Wayne's memory, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation for prostate cancer research at bccancerfoundation.com
