November 12, 1948 - October 28, 2021
Our hearts are shattered by the loss of Trudy taken from us far too soon. She passed away peacefully at home in the afternoon of October 28 surrounded by her family and close friends. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer May of '21. She resigned herself but managed to keep a smile on her face regardless. She was a very strong person and you would never hear her complain or ask for help. She always put every one ahead of herself until her last day!
Trudy was born in Rhunda, Germany, to Rosa and Frank Stich and also had an older brother, Frank. They came to Black Creek, BC, Canada in 1956.
She liked gardening, enjoyed watching the hummingbirds visiting the 3 feeders she had for them, camping in the Nimpkish valley and most of all to ride her motorcycle all over the island and beyond...
Trudy worked at the Comox Legion for 16 years and retired as the assistant bar manager. She really enjoyed talking to everyone and all the regulars sitting at the bar... She liked psychology, was very spiritual, had a lot of empathy, dry sense of humor and also liked to laugh...
Trudy will be remembered by her loving husband Dan (his family, Quebec, QC) sons Frank Gibson (Emily), Union Bay, BC, Tony Gibson (Heidi), Comox, BC, grandchildren, sister-in-law Barb Stich, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She is pre-deceased by her first husband, Frank Gibson, her mom, her dad and her brother.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and physicians for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Trudy's memory may be made to the Comox Valley SPCA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 21st, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Little Red Church, 2182 Comox Ave., Comox, BC.
