July 10, 1941 - October 26, 2021
In loving memory ~
Larry spent the first 68 yrs of his life in Cambridge, Ontario including a short time in the Army, then working in the Cambridge area as labourer, mid-management, loader operator in aggregate, then transitioning to expedite owner/operator from Cambridge to the southern U.S. Upon retiring, he opened a karaoke supply store because he had discovered a love of singing karaoke, especially the songs of Willie Nelson. In 2009, he and Lynn decided to make the move to British Columbia where he quickly became a member of the Parksville Legion, spending lots of time volunteering, becoming a member of the executive wearing several hats, playing pool, making close and valued friends as well as morning coffee buddies.
Larry was too busy to be sick, but when the 5th and final time cancer came calling, he decided it would be at a time and place of his choosing. He died in his favourite lounge chair at home with wife Lynn and daughter Val at his side, and favourite Willie Nelson songs playing in the background.
Larry is survived by his wife Lynn of 31 years, as well as sisters Meredith Saxon, Marjorie Baxter (Neil), Katherine Morelli (deceased), children Laureen, Scott, Edward, Valerie, Colin and step daughter Gabrielle; grandchildren Clarissa, Olivia, Lilly, Kaelen; great grandchildren Makoy, Ellie and Weston, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, and a celebration of life will be held in Parksville at a later date for those who were not able to see him off before his journey.
