October 6, 1946 - February 16, 2020
Vern, a resident of Comox since 2012, passed away at the North Island Hospital in Courtenay on February 16, 2020. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, daughters Shawna Johnston and Carol Johnston; grandchildren, Jessica Delaat, Darian Johnston and Bryan Koroll; sisters Nancy (Hanns) Luck and Diane White, many nieces and nephews including; Cindy Cooke and Wendy Stolkes, many other family and friends not mentioned, as well as; Mylie and Nicole Barron, Dee Sugden, many good friends in the Comox Valley and Vancouver Island, Timothy O'Brien, Dean Codotte, Steve Fogg, Kim Wakelin-Brake, Kimberly LaCroix, Vince Andre, also his close friend Joan Gagne. Vern enjoyed anything to do with woodworking. He was a logger always and forever and also a jack-of-all trades. He was friends to everyone, a voice of reason, a great listener and a comfort to us all. He was your best back-up in a fight, and did someone say, "Beer Can Chicken?".
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 27th, 3:30 pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road.
