On September 23, 2021, Lee passed away peacefully at home at the age of 70. He was born on November 5, 1950 in Alexander City, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl, his brother Fred (Nancy) Sellers and sisters Nell (Don) Magouyrk and Cathy (Jim) VanLokeran, brother-in-law Charles Allison and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Helen Hagan Sellers, father Fred Wilson Sellers and sister Sue Allison. Lee grew up in Alexander City and Sylacauga, Alabama.
In his younger years, Lee was an adventurous soul who enjoyed white water canoeing, caving, hiking and always had a great love for nature and the outdoors. One summer in the mid 70's during a semester break from the University of Alabama, he hitchhiked to Gold River, B.C. to visit friends, loved the area and stayed. It was there he first met Cheryl. He stayed there for a few years, moved to Washington State, back to Alabama and eventually Lee and Cheryl married in 1980 in Vancouver, B.C.
After a brief stint in Prince George, they returned to Gold River for a couple of years, then moved to Comox Valley in 1984. He loved and enjoyed his animals, travelling, camping, fishing and spending time with friends and family. One of his greatest passions was watching his beloved Crimson Tide football games. Roll Tide. He was also proud to become a Canadian in 1988.
Lee was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all those that loved him. There will be no service at Lee's request.
