It is with great sadness we share the passing of Verne. He passed away peacefully at Yuculta Lodge hospice after a brave 5 month battle with cancer.
Verne was predeceased by his siblings, his parents Jack and Othilda, and his best friend Lief. He was also predeceased by his partners Elsie and Claudia. Verne will be deeply missed by Claudia's children Heather Alexander and Mike Ruff and their families as well as her siblings and extended family. He will also be missed by many great friends he made while working for the city for almost 30 years.
He deeply enjoyed the many visits from Brian and his camping buddy Brad. Verne was a gentleman who was a great listener but also loved to tell stories of the old days in Campbell River. He had a great sense of humor and was always sharp as a whip. Verne loved his music and sometimes shared his incredible singing talent with his friends.
