August 26, 1935 - February 23, 2021
Verna Faulkner of Campbell River, BC, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the age of 85 years old.
Verna will be lovingly remembered by Johnny, her husband and soulmate of 66 years. Verna was a loving, devoted and very proud mother to daughter Sherry, sons Bo and Glen, and daughters Geri (Ron) and Vicki (Robert).
Verna will be dearly missed by her brother Ken (Mary), 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Verna was born in Dodsland, SK, and moved to Beaver Valley, BC as a young child. She completed her schooling in Trail and then moved to Vancouver.
Verna and John were married on December 3, 1954, at RCAF Station Sea Island. During the next several years they started a family and moved to Comox. A move from Comox to Richmond and then a few years later they returned to Cumberland and resided there until 1973. A transfer brought a move to Edmonton, AB, until retiring in Campbell River, BC, where she lived for 33 years.
Verna was incredibly creative and had many hobbies. She had a particular passion for sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Her cooking and baking were to perfection! She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Campbell River Friendship Quilting Guild.
Verna was very kind and compassionate and had a beautiful personality. She loved spending time together with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on Unit 3A at the Campbell River Hospital for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Verna's granddaughter, Tiffany, who made it possible for us all to stay connected through these trying times.
There will be a small Celebration of Life at a future date for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the British Columbia Children's Hospital Foundation.
