In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Royden, who we all affectionately called Bud. Riding his horse just the day before, Bud suffered a stroke on August 6th and passed away on August 12th.
Thomas Royden Whitfield of Qualicum Beach, was born on January 15, 1942 in Boissevain, MB. He died peacefully surrounded by so much love with his family by his side.

He was also survived by his sister, and many nieces and nephews and so many dear lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his daughter Kimberley Koppang in 2021. Bud will hold a special place of honor with the Back Country Horsemen North Island Chapter, where he was a longtime member and volunteer which allowed him to enthusiastically share in his passions for horses.
