In Loving Memory

Tom passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC, on March 17, 2025.

Born on May 7, 1946, in Berkeley, California, Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children, Reo Phillips (Annette), Burly Phillips (Cherry), Glyse Clarkston (Paul), his grandchildren, Webb, and his many friends.

Tom was a man who appreciated the simple things in life. He was charismatic, pragmatic, honest, and hardworking. Known in the fishing community as a skilled shipwright, Tom developed a passion for mechanics and woodworking from his grandfather at a young age. He took this gift and turned it into a small business, which he operated for over 30 years out of his tugboat, the Santa Rita. Tom was fond of a good sandwich, enjoyed a hearty laugh, loved his work, nature, art, music, a good book, his cat, and the company of his friends and family. He will live on in our hearts and memories.

A celebration of life will be held for friends and family on Sunday, May 25. Please RSVP to SandsFuneral Chapel for more details. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to theMustard Seed Food Bank in Victoria.
