Theresa Pauline Dennis - The family of Theresa Pauline Dennis are sad to announce her passing on November 11th, 2017 at the Comox Valley Hospital in Courtenay.
Tess was predeceased by her parents, Esther Stella Dennis (nee Downey) and Hubert James (Jack) Dennis; her sister and brother: Mary Margaret Dennis, and Paul Dennis who died in infancy. She is survived by her sisters Agnes Catherine Rasmussen (nee Dennis) and Rosemary Frances Walters (nee Dennis).
Tess attended Normal School in Victoria and graduated with a bachelor of education from UBC. She taught elementary school in the Comox Valley for forty years. Tess was awarded the Queens Silver Jubilee Medal for her work with blind children and was a tireless volunteer at Christ the King Catholic Church.Tess was an organist for John the Baptist Catholic Church in Comox, which was built by her great grandfather, William Anderton. She enjoyed travelling extensively to Britain, Europe, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand South America and Antarctica.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 7:00 pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay.
Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 23rd at 11:00 am at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Courtenay, followed by interment at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
