Terry Douglas Burkitt

October 5, 1950 - July 21, 2022
Terry Douglas Burkitt of Nanaimo BC passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022 at the age of 71.
Terry was born October 5, 1950 in Revelstoke BC to Laura and Doug Burkitt.
Terry fought a courageous battle with cancer. Despite the difficulties of fighting the disease, he always had a smile on his face, a story to share and a joke to tell.
Terry enjoyed a 39 year career with OK Tel, BC Tel & Telus. He loved sports, playing and coaching with many teams. He was most proud of his time playing for the Revelstoke Selkirk Hockey Club. He was also proud of being part of the annual
Slaughter Fishing Derby. Terry was a loving husband to Jane, a fantastic father to Grant (Trina), Kristi (Rob), Adrienne and Michelle. He was a caring older brother to Gail Burkitt and Laura Lee (Larry) Shelley and a spectacular uncle to Lisa, Lindsay (Conlan),
Leana (Mitch), Lane and Kelsey. Doting Poppa to Jaden, Kaeya and Ella. Terry was predeceased by his father, Doug Burkitt.
Words cannot express how much Terry will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Join us for a Celebration of Life for Terry on September 30, 2022 at the Nanaimo Golf Club, 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Please come raise a glass as we gather to remember his remarkable life.
