Terry Carpenter

Terry, age 72, of Qualicum Beach, passed away on Nov. 12, 2024 at St Paul's Hospital, in Vancouver, with family by his side.

He was born on Sept. 15th, 1952, at St Paul's hospital, to Barbara and Marvin.

Terry spent his early years in West Vancouver, before moving to North Van to attend Carson Graham Secondary. He excelled in business, had a keen entrepreneurial spirit, and a knack for horticulture.

Terry had a deep love for the ocean as an avid fisherman, water skier, and scuba diver. He opened Deep Cove Dive Shop in the 90's and was a paramount and well-loved figure in the dive community. Through his own healing journey, he discovered hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and founded Oceanside Hyperbaric Clinic, in Parksville, in 2010. He was passionate about this modality, and enthusiastic to help others, often paying out of his own pocket to support those in need. His clinic is still thriving and will continue to be a beacon of his legacy.

Terry is survived by his 3 sons Tyler, Ryan (Kelsey) & Brent, his 2 grandchildren Riley & Cole, his siblings Michael & Marilyn, as well as his partner Patti.

Affectionately known to his old friends as "TC", Terry will be missed for his quick-witted humour, radical authenticity and immense generosity.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8th at 1pm at The Royal Canadian Legion in North Vancouver (123 W 15th St). Please consider donating to help those in financial need get affordable hyperbaric oxygen treatments in Terry's honour.
