November 6, 1946 - September 27, 2022
In loving memory ~
With profound sorrow, I announce the passing of my beloved husband Terry Dyer on September 27, 2022.
Terry is survived by, dearly missed, and much loved, by his wife Valerie Jean Dyer (nee DeBaie) and his sisters Carroll Coffill (Stephen) of Halifax, N.S., Madeline Kuthe (Harry) of Dartmouth, N.S., Aunt Diane Keefe of Halifax, N.S.
He was predeceased by his parents Ellen Zita (nee Carroll) and Albert Edward Dyer and younger brothers Richard, Daniel, and Timothy.
Terry graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and was hired immediately by the B.C. Ministry of Forests for which he worked in several regions of B.C. but spent most of his career as District Manager of the B.C. Ministry of Forests in Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) before retiring in 2000 to Qualicum Beach. Terry, throughout his career, was happiest when he was working out in the bush.
Terry was an avid cyclist and during one particular year, after he retired, clocked 10,000 km on his trusty bike. It was not unusual for Terry to clock 70+km on our group rides three times a week. He also enjoyed Slo-pitch ball throughout the year, with PGOSA. Throughout his retirement, Terry enjoyed curling in both Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Camping and travelling were also great enjoyments of his. He had numerous DIY projects on the go at any given time.
He will be especially remembered for his humility, his generosity, his kind soul, his integrity beyond measure, his wit and sense of humour. As his baby sisters would say, during their growing up years "Terry's a good boy. You be nice to him; he be nice to you."
A Celebration of Life will be held at Yates Memorial, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville on Friday October 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Should you wish, a donation in Terry's honour, would be greatly appreciated by the BCSPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
