It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sven Anton Haentjens Dekker on May 3, 2022. Sven was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on June 26, 1971. He moved with his family to Calgary, Alberta when he was six years old and settled in Nanaimo in 1995.
Sven was a free-spirited adventurer with a zest for life. He was a wonderful man who was always ready to help out. He was a beloved father, son, and brother.
Sven will be sorely missed by his children Ethan and Isla, parents Corinne and Hein, sister Vanessa, brother Hayo (Jen) along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the people that were part of Sven's journey in life. As per Sven's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A gathering of Sven's family and friends to share memories and celebrate his life took place on May 13th, 2022 at the Nanaimo Curling Club in Bowen Park.
