With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Surjit Kaur Manhas at the age of 75. Mom passed away peacefully at home in Duncan, BC on May 8, 2019.
Born in the village of Kalra, Punjab, India on December 10, 1943, Surjit was wed to the late Dayal Singh Manhas (2008) in January 1962. She immigrated to Canada in February 1962 and since then, Duncan has been her home.
She will be remembered for her dedication, compassion, and generosity to her family and for her seva to the Gurdwara.
She leaves behind her children: Jenny (Dennis), Julie (Rajinder), Rekha (Inderpal), and Amrit (Indera), 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 am. Doors open 10:00 am at HW Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, Duncan BC.
Prayers in the form of Sahej Paath and langar will be at the Paldi Sikh Temple following the service.
