Stuart W. Salmond

Stuart William Salmond passed away June 20, 2021 at age 90 and 7/12 (musicians keep good time). He is lovingly remembered by daughter Vicki, son's Jeff (wife Kim) and Brad, a dance band worth of grand children and an orchestra of great grand children.

Stu started studying music at age 5 and never looked back. As a professional musician he did it all. Radio, tv, records, concerts, lounges, musical theatre, symphonies, the CNE, circus's and ice shows. If good music was involved he was there. Touring with Frank Mills, Peter Appleyard and Al Haig. Backing up entertainers like Catherine McKinnon, Mary Hopkins and Tony Bennett. He worked for the American Federation of Musicians as the Canadian International Representative. He is best known in later life for hosting the Sunday Jazz in Crofton, BC, as well as, performing in jazz venues like Hermanns and festivals all over Vancouver Island.

He was cremated at H.W. Wallace centre and a celebration of life and music will be held at a future date.
