June 20, 1955 - January 10, 2021
Steven passed away peacefully at his home on January 10, 2021. Predeceased by his loving parents Des and Marjorie, and brother Donald. Steven is survived by siblings Michael, Patrick, Katherine, Teresa and Rachel, and his daughter Maggie. He had a special spot for his many nieces and nephews.
Though Steven was born in Port Alice and lived his later years in Toronto, he always called Duncan home.
He spoke fondly of his time with friends in Duncan and with family at the cabin on Pender Island. Steven was a great many things. He was a lawyer, avid reader, excellent guitarist, tireless worker, lover of music (the Beatles!), fierce debater and loving friend. Most of all, he will be remembered for his kindness.
To those who knew Steven, it was clear that his greatest calling in life and proudest achievement was being a father and best friend to his daughter, Maggie and son-in-law and confidante, Jake. Steven could not have been prouder of Maggie and all that she does. He will be deeply missed by all those who experienced his always enduring optimism and love for life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Toronto's Aphasia Institute in Steven's honour, an organization that provided Steven with an incredible community in his later years.

It was Steven's wish that no ceremony or funeral be held. He will be buried with his parents on Pender Island.
