Stephen Besenczi passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Nanaimo, BC on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 95.
Stephen is survived by his son Tom (Brenda), daughter Valerie (John), grandchildren Erin (Rob), Elizabeth, Connor, and great-grandchildren Henry and Stanley. He is predeceased by his wife Irene in 2019 and sister Irenke in 2017.
Stephen was born in Budapest, Hungary before he came to Canada with his family in 1956. He was an active and dedicated member of the Hungarian Cultural Society of Nanaimo and served on the board for many years.
Stephen was devoted to his family and was a true gentleman loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed.
There will be no funeral service by request. The family would like to thank the caregivers and hospital staff at Dufferin Place for their excellent care and kindness for the years Stephen was a resident. In lieu of flowers, please give to a charity of your choice.
