Stanley Ernest Curtis

April 19, 2019

It is with heartfelt sadness that we must say good-bye to our devoted and loving father and grandfather. He will live forever in our hearts and wonderful memories.

Dad was born in Perdue Saskatchewan where he grew up with his sister Joyce.

Dad met his soulmate and love of his life - our mother Florence - when she moved to Perdue to take her first teaching job.  They married in 1948 and were married for 69 years before mom's passing.

ln 1953,Dad& Mom headed to Northern Saskatchewan purchasing a grocery store in Creighton(next door to Fin Flon) which they owned and operated until selling the store in 1959.

Dad had already started his new career at HBM&S before they sold the store where he worked until his retirement at age 58.  Dad however did not fully retire as he moved on to run the Flin Flon Golf Course for many years.

During his lifetime Dad made many lifelong friends, developed a passion for fishing, curling, hunting, great parties, and of course their cabin at Denare Beach which was purchased in 1963.  At the Cottage Dad was also known for his fantastic Fish Fry's, especially the big one he always held on Beaver Lake Day.  Dad was also very active in the Lion's Club and at one point served as their Leitenant Governor.

ln 1992 a condo was purchased in Qualicum Beach BC and then Dad and Mom split their year between BC and Denare Beach SK. Making even more friends and adding many great trips to their already active lifestyle.

Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Florence, his daughters Barb and Marianne and his sister Joyce.  He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his sons and their children and families; Roger (Dafina), L.G. and Stefan; Ken (Lidia), Kyle, Kristopher and Kayla and also by Marianne's sons Curtis and Chace and his niece Marcia(Jack)  and their family.

A funeral service will be held at the Anglican Church. 138 Hoylake Rd W., Qualicum Beach, BC. Monday May 6th at 2 pm.
