July 7, 1933 - April 20, 2020
With deep sorrow in our hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Sodhi Ram Jaswal on April 20, 2020 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital after battling with diabetes for many years.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 48 years Usha and his children Sonia, Rajan, Curtis, Kris, (late Karm/George) his two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Sodhi was born in Bham (Punjab) India and immigrated to Nanaimo in 1954 at the age of 21. He was a resident of Nanaimo for over 65 years. He was the owner of Jaswal Building Supplies in South Wellington for over forty years.
His life was about family, travel, buying and selling heavy duty machinery, trucking and camaraderie amongst his friends. He will be remembered by many for his generosity, selflessness and strong personality.
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the many doctors and nurses at NRGH, and also the community help service nurses for their loving care of Sodhi for the past two years.
