Died suddenly May 27, 2023 at the age of 80.
Shirley was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1943, arriving in Canada in 1975 with husband Robert and her two sons.
Shirley was a bookkeeper working in various companies in and around Nanaimo and will always be remembered as a great host, who loved to cook and bake.
She was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene, where she held many positions. Shirley loved The Lord and did his work faithfully, always helping people, not thinking of herself.
Leaving behind her grieving husband Robert, her two sons, Paul and Nigel along with daughters in law and 6 grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her sister Sylvia (Ken) and their family in Nanaimo, sister in law Carol (Robert) in Ontario and sister Audrey and brothers Ian (Briege) and Noel (Margaret) and their families, and a lot of friends in Ireland.
They will miss her annual trips home to visit them. Gone too soon, we know she is home with The Lord, who she loved.
Hold on to your memories and forever they shall remain.
A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at the Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene on Saturday June 24, 2023 at 3 pm.
