Shirley Rose Eastman (nee Hunt)

April 23, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife and mother Shirley Rose Eastman. Shirley was born on Jan 8 1940 in Ottawa Ontario. She had fond memories of growing up on the Monahan farm. She attended Gleeb High School and then went on to work for the government as a clerk typist.

While attending a dance near the airforce base she met a handsome man in uniform (still the most handsome man in the room) and followed him back to BC where they were married and started a family. Her love of family was legendary and we were so lucky to be part of it.

Our Angel of Mirth put everything she had into everything she did be it family functions, playing hockey, selling shoes , outings with her Dinghy Dock Dollie Sisters (Nola, Tig, Aileen), delivering meals on wheels for 25 years or doing the breakfast club at the school. She loved being a grandma and a gg and did everything she could to make each and every grandchild feel special and loved. They loved to travel and visited Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, East Coast, Ottawa to name a few places and always came back with funny stories of their adventures (or misadventures).

Her enthusiasm, laughter and her big hugs will be sorely missed. Forever loved and remembered by her husband of 60 years Allan. Children Derrick, Pam (Dave) and Brian ; Grandchildren Adam Cara (Matt), Zachary, Jared, Allana and little Shirley; Great grandsons Maxwell and Callan; Sisters Betty (Gunnar) and Kay (Ernie); Sisters in law Shirley, Nola and Alice; Brothers in law Bob (Mary), Richard and Sandy (Lorna); As well as too many special nieces and nephews to mention....she loved you all!

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a favorite charity or give someone you love a great big Shirl hug!!!

There will be a small family and close friends gathering at the Eastman house to celebrate her life.
