Shirley Lona Morris (Rutherford, for a time) has gone on a final journey to be with Our Lord after a battle with cancer at the age of 88.
Shirley was born in Powell River, BC to Alec and Viola Morris in 1933. She was so proud of her children: Deborah, Michael (Carol), Kelly (widow Tracy), Drew and Shannon (Troyce), and 'adopted' daughter Barb (Ian). Predeceased by her son Kelly. Cherished grandchildren: Graeme; Scott; David; Hailey, Lana, Mackenzie, Ally; Noah and Eliana. Great grandchildren, Kolby and Kahli (Scott) have been a bonus for her that she mentioned she did not expect and was so happy to know. Photos of all her children were prominently displayed on every wall and surface in her home.
Shirley often marvelled at the blessings she enjoyed and the love returned, at making it to 88. She loved her family and friends, dogs, songbirds and roosters, flowers, knitting, Purdy's dark chocolate, and all things Scottish. She loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Scotland and Ireland with her daughters. She also loved to sit and listen to her son's adventures in the woods and on the water.
To Shirley, family and friends were everything. If you knew our mom, you probably have a pair of her hand knit socks to wear while you remember her.
