July 20, 1928 - November 5, 2021
Born in Vancouver, 20 July 1928 - Passed in Parksville, 5 November, 2021
Shirley was predeceased by John, her husband of 60 years. She was proud of having 5 daughters: Vicki, Carol, Cheryl, Dona and Terry. These daughters provided her with 14 grand children, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She worked hard alongside her husband, who started, owned and operated Wellington Foundry (still in business today) as the "furnace man" during a cast. She also worked at Wellington and Nanaimo Post Offices and Eaton's downtown Nanaimo.
She will be remembered for her love of gardening, music, the ocean, painting, Yorkshire Terriers and looking her best.
Shirley often sang "All I want is a Room Somewhere", from the movie My Fair Lady, while dancing with the broom. Her family trusts she is now in a room somewhere far away from the cold night air, with one enormous chair, and it is just loverly.
