Shirley Bryant passed away in Port Alberni on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the age of 87.

Predeceased by son Dale, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Shirley is survived by husband Don of 53 years of marriage; children Bev, Donna and Linda; grandchildren Kim, Christine, Steven and Bradley; great grandchildren Noah, Sam, Andy, Charlotte and Hudson as well as many nieces and nephews and her faithful companion Maggie.

Born on the prairies, Shirley moved to Port Alberni when her parents came in search of work. She worked at Fields shortly, but her main focus was family. There are many wonderful memories of home parties over the weekends when family from the east coast of the island would come to play music, visit and laugh.

Other memories are of Shirley and Don fishing on the Inlet, being "Glow Worm" on the CB radio - of which she and Don were members of the CB Club for over 10 years. She was also very involved in the local Royal Canadian Legion through her volunteering for the Ladies Auxiliary and helping Don in his many roles in the Legion.

Shirley, first and foremost dedicated herself to helping raise her grandchildren whom she was so very proud of.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 25 from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion BR 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 6G5.
