Shelley was born in Burnaby B.C. and moved around the lower mainland when she was a young child. Her family settled in Sayward where she enjoyed the rest of her childhood.
She met Carl Sjoholm, the love of her life, in her early 20's and travelled all over Europe with him. They crossed the Atlantic by ship and returned to Sayward where she got a job with BC Ferries.
Shelley stayed with the Ferries for her career and ended up on the Quadra Is. route as a deckhand. She truly loved her job and would always take the middle of the night Emergency shifts to help others when nobody else would.
After her retirement, Shelley enjoyed gardening and long walks on the Parksville Beach, ending up at Starbucks with a big coffee and her journal.
Shelley is survived by her sister Cindy (Dale), niece Angie (Brad), grand-niece Alexa, grand- nephew Brett, son Ryan (Kirstin) and grandson Sylas.
She passed away peacefully at home where she wanted to.

Service was held at Sayward Burial Park Saturday June 25, 2022.
