March 19, 1932 - March 9, 2021
Sadly after a prolonged stay at Wexford Creek Seniors Home Sheila Parcher left us peacefully on March 9, 2021, just 10 days before her 89th birthday.
Sheila was born in Vancouver, BC on March 19, 1932 to Gus and Margaret Bennett.
She was predeceased by her daughter Jayne and her husband Ross.
Sheila had a huge heart and was a champion for the underdog. She loved canning and making her preserves every year. Her jams were widely sought after by friends and family alike.
She was actively involved in Nanaimo Minor Hockey for many years which resulted in her knowing a lot people, this meant a trip to the mall was an all-day event as she had to stop and talk to everyone. Most of all she was loving and caring mother to all her children, their respective partners, her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
At mum's request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place when larger groups can safely be together.
Sincere thanks to the staff at Wexford Creek for the excellent care they provided mum over the past years.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in Sheila's memory would be appreciated.
