December 17, 2021
Always in our hearts, Shaun Patrick Kehoe passed peacefully with his family at his side on Dec 17, 2021.
Shaun was born in 1940 in Vancouver and raised in Deep Cove. He met Janice Allan in 1959 and it was love at first sight, a union that would endure more than six decades.
They married in 1965 and moved to Qualicum Beach in 1970 shortly after their son Brian was born. Shaun began working as a heavy duty mechanic for CP Transport, then transitioned to driving truck until his retirement.
Shaun loved skiing, camping with family on weekends, spending time off at the family cabin on Hornby Island and creating furniture and gifts in his woodworking shop. Shaun and Jan retired to Coombs, loving the rural life together, where he continued his much loved woodworking pursuits.
Shaun then fought and won a battle with throat cancer but lost his voice. His provocative sense of humour endured though and indeed helped to carry him in his later days in Stanford Seniors Village where he endeared himself to a compassionate and professional team who provided not just the care he needed, but genuine friendships. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Janice, son Brian (Colleen), sister Sherry, grandchild Miles (Jasper), and half-brother Rob.
Close friends and family will be contacted in the new year for a small memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre in Shaun's memory are appreciated.
