In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness the family announce her passing. She passed away peacefully at Hospice.
Seanie had a great love of many things. She loved her home, gardens, flowers and birds. She loved music and musical theatre. She loved being outdoors; whether it be in the trails or just out for walks with friends. She loved the colour navy blue, too.
Seanie was extremely independent and was known for her kind, warm and feisty personality. She had no problem letting you know how she felt.
Seanie's biggest love was her family. She treasured each and every one of them, especially her children. She loved them so very much and was very proud of them. She cherished her role as Grammy. Children always brought her the greatest joy. She prided herself on being a hands-on Grammy until her health prevented her from those special times with her little ones.
Sean leaves behind many important people in her life. Her husband Brian Haslett; twin sons Brook Law and Kyle Law; daughter Kirby Law; and Kirby's daughters Astrid and Hilary. She absolutely adored those granddaughters.
She also leaves behind her mother, Nancy Mitchell; brother Dan Hutchings (Chase, Cole, Luke); sister Andrea Cochrane (Steve); and family - Taylor Davies (Kyle, Kendall, Reese), Braydon, and Reid (Megan).
She also shared her life with stepsons Chris Haslett (Kim, Ella, Ava) and Lee Haslett (Kayla, Brooklin, Ty, Cal). As well, she leaves behind many cousins, aunts and sisters-in-law; Beverley Glatt (George) and Marilyn Haslett.
Sean was predeceased by her dad, Don Hutchings; whom she has been missing for more than 49 years. She was also predeceased by her grandparents, Reginald and Bertha Hutchings and Robert and Alma Bale; mother-in-law Margaret Haslett; and sister-in-law Barbara Meinzinger (Roger).
She was a valued employee for close to 40 years at both Robert A and BMO Nesbitt Burns. Seanie loved her co-workers; they were truly her chosen work family.
Seanie will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Special mention to her longest, dearest friends; Deborah, Margo, Bobbi and Tracy. Thank you for all the support. You meant the world to her.
The family wishes to thank her entire Cancer Care Team, her doctors and all the Diagnostic Teams. Seanie always commented on how lovely and kind everyone was to her.
In Seanie's honor, please eat dessert first. She will be delighted to know you did!
A celebration of Seanie's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on March 25th at the Comox Rec. Multi-Purpose Room, 1855 Noel Avenue, Comox, B.C. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of her favourite charities - Y.A.N.A. or B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation or to a charity of choice.
